A little bit about me…I have a history of service to his neighbors in the community he loves. He and Norma moved to Magnolia Point in 2010. I’m a Jacksonville Beach native who graduated from FSU and went on to serve my country as an officer in Vietnam. I was a state licensed building contractor and was credentialed in both Georgia and Florida.

I’ve served on two committees at Magnolia Point and was instrumental in creating and supporting the 3-Year Amenities Use Agreement in 2011. The agreement was put to a vote and approved by the members of the community. I served as president of the MPCA Board of Directors from 2011 – 2014.

I’ve shared my knowledge of construction and offered advice to many of of my friends and neighbors. You may know me around our neighborhood as the “Mailbox Man”

SO, WHY AM I RUNNING FOR THE BOARD?

The last analysis of or reserve requirements indicated that we have a shortfall of nearly $5,000.000. This fund is for the maintenance and replacement for our 12+ miles of roads plus ponds and drainage infrastructure.  All of us should have a choice on how we will handle this shortfall. Decisions regarding expenditure of many millions of dollars that most likely will result in significant increases in fees and special assessments should not be made by five individuals on our Board of Directors. We should vote.

We are paying $450,000 per year and have paid approximately $5,500,000 to the owners of the privately owned golf course. The Agreement for use of amenities associated with this payment was implemented IN PERPETUITY by the long-departed Developer. At Developer turnover, no vote on continuing the agreement was offered and the current Board has refused to allow their constituents to have a voice as outlined in Florida State Statutes and the Magnolia Point Declaration of Covenants. My promise is to negotiate a new Agreement that will ultimately be approved by YOU. Meanwhile I promise to ensure that terms of all Magnolia Point contracts are honored and any breaches be addressed as specified in that document. It’s the right thing to do.
